F.R. Drake Company, the world’s leading supplier of automatic loading systems for frankfurters, sausages, and many other food products is currently taking applications/resumes for the following positions:
Electrical Controls Engineer (2 positions) – This individual will be responsible for control system programming and panel design for OEM equipment. This person will write and modify programming code for PLCs, Servos, and HMIs. The Engineer will generate CAD electrical control schematics using AutoCAD Electrical and assist in testing, trouble-shooting, and debugging programs. The ideal candidate will possess a BSEE and a minimum of 2 years’ experience. Experience with custom machine design, the food processing industry, or conveyor systems is preferred. Experience with Allen-Bradley controls systems, robotics, UL and CE requirements is a plus.
Mechanical Development Engineer (2 positions) – The ideal candidate will have a strong background in custom machine design, machine motion and kinematics. Extensive experience with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD modeling software is required. We are looking for a creative individual excited about the opportunity to do innovative design work on an ongoing basis. This position will create the 3-D design to the customer’s specifications and see the project through to completion and installation. Experience with food processing equipment design is a plus. The ideal candidate will possess a BSME and a minimum of 2 years’ experience.

Field Service Technician I or II – This position has the responsibility for installing and servicing of high speed loading equipment at Drake’s customer facilities. Technicians are responsible to ensure that the equipment meets engineering and customer specifications and that the equipment performs to customer requirements. Applicants should have the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics with one to two years electrical commercial wiring and/or mechanical assembly experience with industrial equipment. Knowledge of AC drives, PLC’s, and Servos a plus. Applicants should have the ability to travel 50% to 75% and be able to work in a food processing/packaging plant environment with temperatures ranging from 35 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit and high noise levels.

1st Shift Production – 1st shift works a rotating schedule Monday thru Thursday and Tuesday thru Friday, 10 hours per day, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Machinist (1st shift) – Must have a minimum of two years of manufacturing experience in a machine shop environment. Applicant must have good math skills, be capable of reading precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers, must be proficient with the use of linear and angular measuring tools, and must be proficient at reading blueprints. Applicant must also pass a written machinist test. CNC machining a plus.
Sheet Metal Welder (Drake West) – Must have a minimum of two years Tig welding experience. Applicant must have good math skills, be proficient at reading blueprints and using measuring tools. Must pass a welding test and meet the standards outlined in AWSD1.6/1.6M welding code requirements.
2nd Shift Production – 2nd shift works a rotating schedule Monday thru Thursday and Tuesday thru Friday, 10 hours per day, 4:30 pm to 3:00 am. A 10% shift differential is given for all 2nd shift employees.
Machinist (2nd shift) – Must have a minimum of two years of manufacturing experience in a machine shop environment. Applicant must have good math skills, be capable of reading precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers, must be proficient with the use of linear and angular measuring tools, and must be proficient at reading blueprints. Applicant must also pass a written machinist test. CNC machining a plus.
Assembler (2nd shift) – This primary responsibilities of this position include the mechanical and electrical assembly of conveying systems. Applicant must be capable of reading mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic blueprints. Must be mechanically inclined and be proficient at using a tape measure and dial caliper.
Finisher (2nd shift) – This primary responsibilities of this position are to grind, buff, polish, straighten, deburr, and blast raw material or semi-finished components into finished parts to the print specifications. The Finisher will be proficient in the classification of finishes and the materials and methods required to achieve a designated finish on stainless steel parts. Prior experience in a machine shop environment preferred but not required. Must be proficient with power hand tools, measuring tools (measuring tape), have basic blueprint reading skills, and proficient with using specialty finishing tools.
Cut-Off Saw Operator (2nd shift) – The primary responsibilities for this position include pulling, cutting, and de-burring raw material to meet the print specifications. Must have a minimum of two years of manufacturing experience in a metal working shop. Must be able to convert fractions to their decimal equivalents and be able to read blueprints to determine type and size of materials. Applicant must have good math skills and be able to accurately read a tape measure.
