  • North American Sales Manager - Reporting to the VP of Sales -

    The primary responsibilities for this position are generating new machine sales within selected territories of North America (USA and Canada). This position will directly sell Drake products and services to food processing customers/prospects. This position will be the liaison between the customer, other Middleby Sales Representatives, and Drake’s Customer Service, Accounting, Sales Engineer and Drake’s Engineering Department. This position will be responsible for and delivering after-sale follow-up to ensure the satisfaction of the customer.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Manage sales functions within the assigd territories of the United States and Canada for Drake products. Responsible for managing the complete sales process; to include prospecting, reporting, quoting, and closing in accordance with annual budget.
    • Maintain a quarterly sales travel plan with weekly updates.
    • Create and manage an efficient travel schedule to maintain the number of customer contacts per trip to minimize overnight travel.
    • Responsible for direct sales calls and visits in the USA and Canada.
    • Maintain a log for all pertinent customer communications (future CRM).
    • Ensure that customer requests for quotes on machines or modifications are followed-up on in a timely manner by the appropriate person.
    • Prepare a sales package for company distribution upon the completion of each machine sale. Co-host sales kickoff to present sales packages upon completion.
    • Assist management in devising and implementing sales and marketing strategies.
    • Assist engineering with new product ideas from field experience and customer feedback.
    • Utilize the Value Selling Sales approach for managing equipment sales projects. This includes updating the Value Prompter grid, Qualified Prospect formula, and Plan Letter to the customer.

    • Job Duties -

    • Cold call, prospect, and develop relationships with customers; host meals and participate with customers after hours.
    • Arrange to host customer events at Drake PIC/MIC to include FAT’s.
    • Fosters an ongoing cooperation throughout the sales department for evaluation and reporting of the effectiveness of advertising and marketing materials throughout the industry.
    • Prepare the sales projections on the piline report as sales activity occurs. We have a live online Excel spreadsheet for the pipeline that management can look at in real time for updates.
    • Send each quote to manager for approval prior to sending it to the customer.
    • Update the sales records with each machine sale.
    • Participate in weekly Rhythm calls, including updating KPIs and Priority updates.
    • Maintain the Sales Quotes section in SharePoint with copies of each quote under its own folder.
    • Participate in daily sales huddle or Gemba.
    • Identify sales opportunities with existing customers and new prospects by conducting site visits.
    • Achieve territory revenue and EBITDA goals.
    • Maintain CRM records, forecasts, trip plans, and reports.
    • Participate in trade shows, sales meetings, industry/customer events and continuous training.
    • Serve as active student of industry and sales profession.

    • Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills and Performance -

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, communications, or international studies.
    • Must be customer service minded.
    • Must be fluent in English, with additional language speaking skills a plus.
    • Must have basic computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must be well organized, reliable, responsive, and fast-paced.
    • Must have strong management skills and be a self-starter.

    • Physical demands and work environment -

    • Must have the ability to travel on short notice. The travel schedule will be based upon sales calls, customer requested visits, and sales plans/needs. Late nights as required. Schedule needs to be flexible to accommodate travel, customer needs, trade shows, meetings, and customer schedules.
    • Sales calls will require meetings with potential clients at their site. Most clients of Drake are food manufacturing facilities. Many of the sales calls will require touring of the client’s facilities and evaluating existing processing and packaging machinery, which will be in a cold and humid environment and will require encounters with raw food and ingredients.
    • Must have the ability to travel 80% of the time.
    • Must be able to drive/travel long distances with frequent overnight stays required.
    • Occasional weekend travel required to attend meetings, trade shows, installs, etc..
    • Some international travel is required.
    • Must maintain a valid passport, or have the ability to obtain a passport.
    • Must have a current and valid driver’s license.

      or Tuesday through Friday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm (10-hour days)
      depending on your team assignment.

    Finisher (1st shift)

    – Prior experience in a machine shop environment preferred with experience in finishing stainless steel and metal fabrication a plus. Applicant must be proficient with power hand tools and have the ability to use specialty finishing tools.

    In-House Service Technician - The primary responsibility of this position will include both electro-mechanical assembly and testing.  This position will also support the Service department with field installations and troubleshooting. This position will primarily work in the Assembly/Service department and will perform in-house mechanical and electrical assembly.  This will include acceptance testing of loader projects and the position will be expect to perform all service department related activities.  Candidate should have one to two years electrical commercial wiring and mechanical assembly experience with industrial equipment or a formal electrical/mechanical education. Must have the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.  Must have knowledge of AC drives, PLC’s and Servos and be able to read a multi-meter. And A.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree or certificate of completion would be a plus.  Must have the ability to travel domestically and internationally for extended periods and work in a food processing/packaging plant environment with temperatures ranging from 35 to 40 degrees and high noise levels.  Hours could include night shift depending on customer requirements.

    Stockroom Specialist - Shipping - The primary responsibility for this position is preparing outgoing shipments as well as a variety of other shipping and stockroom tasks. These include but are not limited to preparing orders for shipment, verifying outgoing materials are as ordered, dispatching transportation, picking, and staging of orders.

    Job Responsibilities -

  • Accurately assemble orders by verifying quantity and item numbers.
  • Accurately pack, seal, weigh and label all outgoing shipments.
  • Transacts all shipments through Order Shipping (CSI/ERP System) into Pacejet or in an emergency process through WorldShip.
  • Prepare shipping labels or bills of lading for shipping outside of the CSI/Pacejet system such as FedEx, DHL, or LTL etc.
